From observation to abstraction. Scroll back through process to inspo.

Treelines, canopy gaps, erosion lines and spatial rhythm slowly reduced into gesture, structure and layered forms.

I'm interested translating landscape through rhythm, spatial memory and material language rather than representing actual.

Abstract language is.... not sure if its done yet.... enjoying myself manipulating colour to control the eye, opening and closing forms, bringing things forward and pushing back. Creating little interuptions. Little pockets of energy. Landscape feels. More organic lines for my art ladies ha ha. I will paint a represenational next.... corgi for Lauren

Thoughts? What do you notice?

Out and aboit today. First paintimg in a couple of weeks. Claypan land movement and marks. Painting with my art ladies at the wpcc community art rooms. A low pressure one that evolved into something I actually like. I was going to do 4 in a seties and it just unfolded across the full sheet. Earth pigment watercolours on paper.

Some places stay with you.
I’m opening a small number of commissions for works grounded in place — pieces that respond to land, light and memory.
These aren’t literal paintings of a photo, but something quieter. A way of holding onto the feeling of a place.
Limited spots available.
You can DM or email to enquire.

"Enduring ground", now open at BAMMoree until 23rd May.

This body of work is shaped by place.
Not just what the land looks like, but what it holds.
There’s a quiet strength in it.
Layers built over time, worn back, reshaped, and carried forward.
Marks that speak of pressure, rhythm, memory.
These works sit somewhere between observation and feeling.
Between surface and something deeper.
A grounding.
