Come to the Royal Theatre this Tuesday evening if you would like to be part of our Andy Griffith 100th birthday bash! Details to follow

 ANDY GRIFFITH’S 100 BIRTHDAY BASH
Calling ALL Carousel members. Carousel is producing a show to celebrate the 100th Birthday of Andy Griffith on Saturday, May 30th. If you remember, we celebrated Don Knotts birthday a couple years back! It was a great success, so we decided to do it again.
For a portion of this show (Act 1), we would like to put together the “Andy Family Singers”. This group will sing along, both as an ensemble and some solos, with the band Keota. This will look and feel quite a lot like the ensemble for “Smoke on the Mountain”, which we performed in 2025. It was GREAT fun and this will be too!
If you are interested, please come to an informational meeting and sign-up on Tuesday, April 14th at 6:30 p.m. at the Royal Theatre. If you are unable to make it to the meeting, just let us know that you want to be in the show. AND YOU’RE IN!!
We haven’t ironed out a rehearsal schedule, but it will be minimal beginning the week of May 18th.

On October 18th, 2025, Duane Snyder, one of our most beloved friends and dedicated Carousel members passed away. Duane simply loved theater, being in the theater, building sets and props, being on stage particularly with his daughter, Jenae, and helping out wherever he was asked. He always said he couldn’t sing, and yet, there he was…. never missing several weeks of Christmas Cantata practices. Yes, he could sing!

These are the pictures that I could find, but I know there are hundreds more. Please feel free to share a picture or two as I know they would be greatly appreciated by his family.

To Duane’s family: Thank you for sharing your incredible father with us. He will never be forgotten.

Most people don’t realize that in community theatre, —aka Carousel Productions,—the people who make the magic, tear down the magic. The Sanders family and the preacher and choir of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church were a creation of Alan Bailey, Connie Ray and the Carousel Director, Cast and Company. A creation that lasted for 7 performances in the spring of 2025 and is gone like smoke on a mountain. The treasure is the memories that last a lifetime.
