Glenbrook Ballet Theatre is a boutique dance school located in Blaxland in the Blue Mountains, offering high-quality ballet and dance training in a warm, nurturing and professional environment. We welcome students from 2yrs through to Adults, with a strong focus on building confident, capable dancers through quality teaching, positive encouragement and age-appropriate training. ✨ Congratulations to all of our beautiful dancers who completed their ATOD exams yesterday! ✨

We are so incredibly proud of each and every one of you! 💗

It was so lovely to see everyone walk into the exam room with such beautiful smiles, confidence and enthusiasm — and come back out just as happy! 🩰

Exam day is about so much more than the result. It represents months of hard work, practice, perseverance and commitment, and we are so proud of everything our dancers have achieved along the way.

A huge thank you to our wonderful teachers for all the time, care and encouragement they have given our students in preparing for their exams, and of course to our amazing dance families for everything you do behind the scenes to support them.

Well done everyone — we hope you are feeling VERY proud of yourselves! We certainly are! 💕✨

🩰 A new pointe journey begins…

These dancers went home today with something a little special — their very own GBT Pointe Preparation & Assessment Program folders. 💜

We’ve been working behind the scenes to develop our very own, comprehensive and individual approach to preparing our students for pointe, bringing together more than 20 years of experience preparing young dancers for this important milestone, along with input from physiotherapy and dance medical professionals.

Inside their folders, our dancers have everything they need to begin working towards pointe — including their Pointe Passport, strengthening program and Exercise Library.

But perhaps the most important thing we want them to learn is that pointe isn’t a race.

There is no magic age, no single test and no need to compare your journey with the dancer beside you.

Some will be ready sooner. Some will need a little more time to build strength, control and confidence.

And that’s okay. 💜

Because being ready for pointe is the achievement — not simply getting the shoes. 🩰✨

We can’t wait to support these dancers through the journey!

A huge congratulations to our Cygnets students, Paige (Cygnets L1) and Josephine (Cygnets L2), who travelled all the way to Perth to compete at the Aus Prix! ✈️🩰

The girls had an incredible experience, taking classes with the wonderful Mr Du as part of the competition before performing their classical solos alongside talented young dancers from across Australia.

A special congratulations to Josephine, who was awarded 8th Place in the highly competitive 7–8 Years category – a fantastic achievement! 👏

We are so proud of both girls for embracing this opportunity with enthusiasm, representing Glenbrook Ballet Theatre so beautifully, and gaining valuable experience on the national stage.

Congratulations, Paige and Josephine! We can’t wait to see how you continue to grow. 💜

This weekend we are so excited to cheer on two of our wonderful students as they travel to Canberra to compete at the Australian Classical Challenge.

Both girls have worked incredibly hard in the lead-up to this event, showing dedication, resilience and a genuine love of classical ballet. We are so proud of the commitment they have shown in their training and the way they represent GBT both in and out of the studio.

🌟 Congratulations, Lillian! 🌟

A huge congratulations to Lillian on her fantastic results at the Talent Tribe Eisteddfod over the weekend!

Competing in the 15 & Over Chief and Warrior Sections (Open & Advanced), Lillian achieved:

🥇 1st Place – Ballet
🥇 1st Place – Demi Character
🥈 2nd Place – Contemporary

We are also thrilled to share that Lillian has qualified for the National Finals! 🎉

Congratulations to Cygnets L4 & CEP Student Lillian on her recent success at Shine Bright Dance Challenge.

Lillian placed 1st for demi, 2nd for lyrical and 2nd for contemporary in the 15- 18 Open/ Advanced sections. She also qualified for the Dance Life Unite nationals!

Well done Lillian what a fantastic achievement.
