β€œAll things connect and that is why each and every project undertaken correlates, interconnects, responds and dances with the other. For my own practice it helps to have side projects that require personal development to the title projects that take center stage in my life- that way I am able to continually interact with stimulus and I can interrogate my way of understanding what I do, to ensure it undeniably develops and expands and I consequently expand as an theater maker and human. The performance that is the centerpiece also develops for the better because of it.” ✨

Synergy flow connection direction 🎢 part of the joy of discovery in the moment is collective discovery and being open to the unknown. That is finding ideas together, working with and against other. Here we have a documented moment painted by 🎨 capturing just that, a connected conversation between and πŸ’§during the La Jolla Shores public rehearsal of β€œSongs from the Sea” πŸŒŠπŸ™βœ¨Who prompts who? Does the sound initiate the dance or does dance initiate the sound 🎷 here are two worlds colliding perhaps simultaneously? πŸ’™ find out at our upcoming show this Wednesday the 21st 8pm 🌊

What a wonderful day we spent yesterday sharing our most recent collaborative work β€œSongs from the Sea”. 🌞 It was a joy to promote our upcoming shows ( 21st AND the 25th )
and to have so many friends and family drop in to see what we’ve been working on πŸ’™πŸ™ We also loved getting to meet some of you for the first time! Thanks for listening and watching ✨🎢 Something else we love is the fact that art is so integrative, and we love how everything connects. That’s why this picture brings us joy, as it was created on Father’s Day, by artist, and father of the co-director and music director of this work 🎹 thank you to for capturing the flurry of emotion that is β€œSongs from the Sea”. Brian observed the performance and improvisations and created in his own improvisory manner alongside us 🌊 🌊 🌊 Featured we have .diggs and πŸ’™πŸ’§ a huge massive thank you to everyone else that helped out on the day, especially grateful to Noemi, Angel and Jamie for their documenting and promotion and the Jampak crew for dropping in πŸ™πŸ™

And the day has finally come! We've been working and experimenting behind the scenes and away from the watchful and intense gaze of social media (a relationship we are constantly working on and through) but it is finally time to awaken from our hibernation. The wild tongues (technology) hiatus has lapsed and we are back and ready to share with the community what we've been working on over the last couple of years! We are so excited and thankful for those who are still here following the journey and to those of you who are new, we welcome you lovingly!
Thank you for being present with us. The first project will be announced very shortly! πŸ’™πŸŒŠπŸ¬πŸ³πŸ‹ We are beyond excited to be connected again and can't wait for future collaborations. Remember you can always reach out if you want to be involved or want to know more. We love inquiry and curiosity. As always, we look forward to sharing your stories. Thank you for trusting us with these sacred gems ✨️

Yours in the arts,

"My intention was to investigate on a deeper and more intimate level my connection to my surroundings and consequently myself. The current project I am working on with Wild Tongues features a collection of water stories and it was my aim to dig deeper into my own psyche whilst working on this collaborative work, considering I am encouraging other's to open up to the inner and collective void, it was time within my own personal practise and indepedent work to just 'go there' so to speak.

On the day I worked with different mythologies to inspire my performative experiment and played with the notion of 'gaze' in clear sight of general public and beach goers. Furthermore I worked with and against the masculine eye of the lens, hiding from it at times, opening up to it at others times like a lotus, manipulating it, even rejecting it where necessary and working through it. For me this experience was a complete collision of organic vs inorganic and it was about pushing boundaries and trying to integrate the two with compassion; blurring the lines between myself-element, and water- element and other-matter."

We are thrilled to be collaborating with incredible pianist, composer and arranger Thomas Meyer] for the premiere international project "Songs from the Sea". This performance will take place this Sunday at Dizzy's Jazz club, San Diego and features an immensely skilled ensemble and some of San Diego's finest musicians πŸ’™πŸ™ It features original compositions and poetry from co-directors and Thomas Meyer] as well as the words of .diggs ✨️ based off of the original concept by Samantha Hafey: "Into the Blue" as well as taking inspiration from her play "Selkie" or "the Seal Women" this performance has surpassed its humble beginnings and has expanded to a deeper and more nuanced discourse between the three creators. The content finds a balance between man's fear of ocean and the organic, man's attempts to control or dominate the ocean and consequently the women in his life as well as observing womxn's innate connection to water (birthing and periods etc). It talks about conservation and our need to protect our blue planet and deep desire to connect as well as the contrast, exploring stories of a 17 year old navy officer stuck in a water prison growing sea sick, dizzy and drunk on oyster brine with too many weapons at his disposal. Overall this piece is a montage of stories and vignettes from various characters trying to understand themselves and the world around them through the lens of the ocean as it relates to them in different moments in time.

Thank you to for this wonderful improvised painting as the poster in response to the live music and compositions of Thomas Meyer.
