This week at Art@TheShed, it was a painting exercise using gouache paint and a lot of colour mixing! And whilst it was a lengthy online tutorial, coupled with the odd expletive and cry of woe, the resulting images, finished or not, are delightful, colourful and so worth the pain and effort. As the weeks pass, and our art tutorials continue to enable us to explore new mediums, genres and techniques, we are constantly blown away at how far we have all come since the launch of Art@TheShed. And as we continue to learn about the “art of art” we are thankful to the Tutors for the many great tips and suggestions shared by them, that will assist us on our art journeys.

More art fun. And lots of laughter! Drawing was the task. The colour was purely fun. Watercolour paint, coloured pencils and coloured oil pencils were all used. And a sound track, in the background, that inspired us all to create. There is no news on the coming workshops as yet. But planning has commenced by the Artist’s engaged, and I will post the info and itineraries when they arrive.

This week, at Art@TheShed, the move from soft pastels to oil pastels had some of us regretting the move. But we carried on regardless and we were all quite pleased with how the lesson turned out. Although the works are unfinished, I thought I’d share the fun. We have more of the same next week and I can hear the groans from where I sit. Nothing ventured is nothing gained!

We had a lovely day of Art at The Shed last Monday. And we had a guest join us for the session, which was a lovely surprise. Kristy and her little Jack Russel “Mini” are travelling around Australia, Kristy loves photography and Mini loves puppachinos! It was another soft pastel session, and quite frustrating, at times, for some of us. But that’s art. And we finished up learning more than we thought we did! Next week we are getting into oil pastels, so watch this space! 🎨

Another fun day of art last Monday, by the members of Art@TheShed, and again the focus was on soft pastels. The tutorial we chose was a landscape, and we all came away with new tips and ideas to aid us on our art journeys. And when time came to photograph our efforts, we all marvelled at the fact that they were all quite different takes on the tutorial picture we were using!
