Art Farm Birchs Bay

Art Farm Birchs Bay OPEN 365 DAYS. Dogs on leads welcome. Our sculpture trail is 2km, bush track, with over 35 artworks

Art Farm Birchs Bay (AFBB) is a not-for-profit association established to foster engagement between community, artists, art and the landscape. AFBB is situated at Five Bob Farm, an innovative working farm in the south Channel and home to Diemen Pepper. A visit to the Art Farm includes meandering through fields of Tasmanian native pepper, orchards and an extensive kitchen garden. Art Farm Birchs Ba

y hosts exhibitions, artist residencies, workshops and the renowned Sculpture Trail - an annual sculpture exhibition featuring Tasmanian and interstate artists with support by private sponsorship and local government. Art Farm Birchs Bay is based in lutruwita (Tasmania), approx 35 minutes south of nipaluna (Hobart) and 10 minutes south of putalina (Oyster Cove). We acknowledge the traditional owners of this land, the palawa people, and pay deep respect to elders past and present, to the many Aboriginal people that did not make elder status, and to the Tasmanian Aboriginal community that continue to care for Country.

Each year around twenty sculptures are exhibited on the trail - We ask people to make a small donation to help keep the track maintained and to leave us a vote for their favourite piece, so we can award a prize for the Popular Choice.

✨ Looking Back... ✨

Do you remember this fearsome visitor?

Back in 2011, metal sculptor James Hanslow brought a dinosaur to life among the bushland.

The rugged metal form blended surprisingly well with its natural surroundings, making it easy to imagine the dinosaur roaming the ferns long before our sculpture trail existed.

Although this sculpture is no longer on display, it's one of those unforgettable artworks that lives on in the memories of those who encountered it.

Did you ever come across this prehistoric giant? We'd love to hear your memories! 🦖

⏰ ONE DAY LEFT!

This is your final reminder: entries for this year’s Sculpture Prize close tomorrow.

Today, we’re looking back at one of the memorable sculptures that greeted visitors in 2024 — a towering Bush Troll by Seth Isham that made an unforgettable impression with its imposing presence and playful character.

Tomorrow, the focus turns to the artists entering this year. Could your sculpture be the one visitors remember next?

Don’t miss your chance. Enter today.

3 DAYS TO GO

The countdown is nearly over.
