This dress has been a labour of love ❤️ so often I’m told I don’t look indigenous because I have light skin so I wanted something to represent that saying that it doesn’t matter how much milk you add to tea, it’s still tea. Jeans just like tea come in all colours and sizes. Every square was cut out by my mum who has put so much work in to it. On the hem are issues still facing our community with the message that we are all cut from different genes but together we can make a difference 🖤💛❤️ just remember that our communities are still facing these issues even in 2024 Stop Mining on Sacred Grounds Stop Removing First Nation Children Stop First Nation Deaths in Custody Better Health Care for First Nation People Voice Treaty Truth This always was and always will be Aboriginal Land, Our Sovereignty was never ceded 🖤💛❤️
