Spotlight Theatrical Company is a not-for-profit community theatre company established in 1955, located in Benowa, Gold Coast. Spotlight has experienced incredible growth over the years, always showcasing the fanastic talents of the Gold Coast and surrounding areas, including some remarkable directors, actors, and highly skilled technical crews. Spotlight Theatrical Company also includes an award

winning costume department (with costumes available for hire and purchase), and renowned youth theatre training programs; performance skills training for young people aged 18 and under. We strive with each new season to present quality live theatre, that our community can be a part of. We would love for you to consider being part of our next sold-out production whether you see yourself as a volunteer usher, learning the skills of making props and costumes, performing in the ensemble, or as our most respected audience.

SPOTLIGHT ON BODHI in My Sunny Boy

Bodhi is everything you’d expect a vegetarian, bellydancing, yoga-instructing, young woman to be. Raised in an army family and having lived in a number of overseas locations, Bodhi is worldly but tends to be impulsive.

At 23 she’s travelled the world, tasted a smorgasbord of drugs, met amazing people and been to A LOT of festivals. Bodhi is Audrey’s 2IC in the bellydancing business and despite the difference in age and her worryingly carefree approach to life, Bodhi remains Audrey’s true best friend at "The Cape"

Meet Claude & Bob, played by Chris Catherwood and Matthew McKenzie.

As mayor of Gander, Claude suddenly finds himself responsible for welcoming thousands of stranded passengers to his small Newfoundland town, while Bob, a hardened New Yorker far from home, slowly discovers there’s more to Gander and its people than he first expected.
