It was so special to have kids and families explore Country & Belonging at The Creativerse – activities that grew out of the First Nations-designed and -led arts residencies Arena has presented in schools across Dja Dja Wurrung Country (and beyond!) over the past four years.

A team of local artists brought the magic of these residencies to our festival, using the artwork and activities made with and for the participating kids.

Whether you spotted your animal design wandering through our projected forest, made patterns with Josie & Emily, answered leaf questions, or took a moment out the front with Neil's beautiful Welcome soundscape, we hope you enjoyed your experience with Country & Belonging.

Step into the free Immersive Zone to find us, where we will show you how to make your own dragon puppet — all materials supplied! Then, bring your dragons back at 3:30pm to join the puppet dragon parade.

Also, meet Siu Lock Loong (小樂龍), Bendigo’s ‘Little Happy Dragon’, who’s been delighting local school kids since coming from Beijing in 2001.

The Creativerse has lots on offer! Workshops, storytelling, pop-up performances, digital projections and more — all shaped by the young ones who show up and dive in! Come be a part of it!

Meet Tamara Rewse one of the brilliant minds behind Raven. RAVEN is a gentle, hopeful story about courage and kindness, inspired by the remarkable life of wildlife rescuer Raven Kinski.
Through puppetry and interactive play, watch how even the smallest acts of kindness can make the biggest difference. Join the flock and discover new ways to care for our natural world.
‘I will help… because I can’t do anything else. Anything from a snail, anything, anything that’s sentient, I’ll be there. But particularly with animals because they need us and in today’s times, more than ever.’ — Raven Kinski
