Mary-Jane enjoyed an outstanding March with her talented trotter, The Dark Thunder, who delivered an impressive series of performances throughout March. The campaign included a win at Bendigo, followed by two fantastic victories in the Boort Trotters Cup and the Wangaratta Trotters Cup.
After such a successful run, The Dark Thunder is now enjoying a well-earned spell. We haven’t had the chance to catch up with Mary-Jane and head strapper Charlie just yet due to their short break from racing so , in the meantime, congratulations again to Mary-Jane on a terrific achievement!

Bendigo was fortunate to play host to a pair of true stars of the industry last night, with Rockingwithattitude and Mercano taking to the track as part of their preparations for the 2026 Queensland Constellations.
On a wet and cold evening, the conditions were far from ideal, but both horses handled it with class. With the mobile unavailable, the trial was switched to a standing start. Despite the weather, the pair produced a quality performance, stopping the clock at 2:44.0, with a mile rate of 2:02.8. They closed strongly, recording a last mile of 1:59.5, a last half of 56.9, and a slick last quarter of 27.6.
At the finish, it was Rockingwithattitude (David Miles) who got the nod, defeating Mercano (Michael Bellman) by a short half-head, while War Dan Phoenix (Jack Laugher) filled third place.
Bendigo was proud to host these multiple Group 1 winners and to play a role in their preparation. We wish both connections the very best of luck as they head north to contest their respective features at the 2026 Queensland Constellations — the Inter Dominion and The Great Square in July.

Trial Results and videos last night Monday June 1st 2026 have now been published.
“A big thank you to all our volunteers and participants for your perseverance and patience on what was a very cold and wet night. Please note that mobile barrier was unable to be used after Trial 1, so Trials 2–4 have been reclassified as workouts, and Trial 6 was changed to a standing start.”

What a fantastic thrill! 🎉 Congratulations to Taylor Youl on winning the $125,000 3YO Trotting fillies Nutrien Equine Classic Listed Race at Wagga last night aboard Aldebaran Ada. Trained by Chris Svanosio, Aldebaran Ada put in a terrific performance to take out this feature event. We are so proud to see a local driver achieve such a fantastic result.
