🧡 Dot of the Week #38 🧡

This week's dot is a lovely arrangement of overlapping felt circles, decorated with simple embroidery stitches.

You will need:

5½" square of background fabric

1 × 3" orange felt circle

1 × 1¾" grey felt circle

1 × 1½" grey felt circle

1 × 1" green felt circle

Embroidery thread and needle

Instructions:

Arrange your four felt circles on the background fabric, overlapping them as shown in the photograph.

Work four small straight stitches in the centre of each of the three smaller circles.

Add eight French knots evenly spaced around the edge of each smaller circle.

Decorate the large orange circle with French knots around its visible edge.

A simple little design that proves you don't need complicated stitches to create something lovely!

Come along with us on a Melbourne C*D Craft Shop Trail! 🧶✂️🏙️

We spent the day exploring Morris & Sons, Dymocks, Mind Games, Metro Hobbies and Daiso, with a trip to see Spamalot and a stop at Brunetti thrown in too! ☕🎭

There was crochet on the train, lots of browsing and, of course, a little shopping along the way. 🛍️

A little behind-the-scenes look at Nathan getting this gorgeous purple quilt ready for quilting 💜

First it’s stretched and clipped onto the frame, followed by a quick press to get everything sitting beautifully flat.

Then Nathan bastes down the sides, checks the tension, and it’s ready to go!

The edge-to-edge pattern for this one is Daisy Chain 🌼

Then comes the best bit… watching that first row stitch out from left to right. ✨
