ANIMAL FARM INFORMATION NIGHT

Tribe Youth Theatre is the 'Youth Arm' of the Bendigo Theatre Company, for teenagers. As long as you are in Year 7 or above, you can join Tribe! The top age for participation within a Tribe production is nineteen years old.

Show Synopsis:
When the animals of a farm overthrow their human owner, they imagine a future built on equality, freedom and shared purpose. As new leaders emerge and power begins to shift, those ideals are slowly undermined, raising the question of what equality truly means.

Exploring power, privilege and political corruption, Animal Farm is a timeless story of rebellion and betrayal that remains sharply relevant today.

/ / THANK YOU KERRY / /

We want to take a heartfelt moment to acknowledge the contribution of Kerry Turpie, who has stepped down as a committee member and Chair of Tribe Youth Theatre.

Kerry has been a cherished member of Tribe since joining the Barnum (2017) production team as Stage Manager where she skillfully trained a young backstage crew. The following year she directed Tribe’s first play, Terry Pratchett’s Wyrd Sisters, and mentored a debut Stage Manager for Grease.

Kerry officially joined the Tribe Committee in August 2019 where she introduced and expertly managed the education portfolio. That same year she stage-managed the multi-award-winning Wicked for BTC.

Following the challenges posed by 18 months of lockdowns, Kerry took the production management reins for Cats halfway through 2021 and steered it to completion against the odds in January 2022.

In addition, Kerry:
- Activated two Tribe Youth Theatre school holiday intensives in collaboration with Props Theatre.
- Initiated Tribe’s Online Play Reading Series during the 2020 lockdowns.
- Directed Puffs in 2022 and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time 2024

Education has always been at the heart of the roles Kerry has taken on. As Director, her production planning was nothing short of exemplary. The entire rehearsal season was meticulously pre-planned, well organised, and flexible enough to adapt to any hurdles that popped up.

The Tribe and BTC Committees extend their deepest gratitude to Kerry for her outstanding contribution. We wish her all the best in her future endeavours. Kerry, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. The door is always wide open for you...
