Our TENx10 Casting Night is super relaxed, collaborative, and fun. See a script you like? Put your hand up and read a character! Nominate your favourite plays at the end of the night, and we’ll match everyone up. Since each play is only 10 minutes long, rehearsals are flexible and low-key.

What a fantastic experience seeing Trust the Process performed by The Bard's Theatre as part of Tales from the Bard.

It's always incredibly rewarding to watch a script make the journey from the page to the stage, and the cast and creative team brought this satirical look at wellness culture, influence, and persuasion to life with such energy and commitment.

A huge thank you to everyone at The Bard's Theatre for including Trust the Process in this year's showcase of original work, and to everyone who came along to support live theatre. Congratulations to the entire cast and crew on a wonderful performance—it was a pleasure to see the play come to life.

What a fantastic experience seeing Catch-Up IRL (No Cap) brought to life as part of GEMCO Players' Take Ten Festival!

It was wonderful to watch audiences laugh their way through the wonderfully chaotic world of Gen Alpha slang as two friends caught up while a very patient translator did their best to keep everyone else in the loop. Seeing so many people of all ages recognising the generational divide—and then discovering the heart beneath the humour—was incredibly rewarding.

A huge thank you to director Mandy McGarrigle for her vision and to the talented cast of Loan Brown, Felicity Cornell and Claire Wood for their brilliant performances. They captured the energy, comedy and warmth of the script beautifully.

I'm grateful to GEMCO Players for selecting the play and including it in another outstanding Take Ten Festival. It's always a privilege to have new work performed, and I'm already looking forward to the next writing adventure!

We’re thrilled to announce the Top Ten Plays selected for this year’s Take Ten Writers Festival!

Congratulations to the writers whose work has been shortlisted, and a heartfelt thank you to everyone who entered. The quality and variety of submissions made the judging process both exciting and incredibly challenging.

Meet Kerry Turpie — Founder of Forge Youth Theatre

"Forge began with a simple idea — that every young person deserves a space where they can be creative, courageous, and seen.

After years of teaching drama and seeing how theatre transforms confidence and connection, I wanted to build a community where those sparks could grow. Forge Youth Theatre is that space — where imagination meets courage, and every young theatre artist finds their voice, their story and their community."

From Embers (5–7) discovering play, to Kindling (8–11) building creativity, and Flame (12–14) shaping performance — we’re lighting the way for the next generation of theatre artists in Bendigo.
