Members of the BCTC Inc. - What a disappointing start to our August club night on 16th August. We only had three people put their names on the board to sing. Where were all the other singers that we see each month. After we made a phone call to see where our guest Artist was, he told us that he wasn’t coming. We are now faced with very limited artists and no guest artists, also a smaller attendance of patrons than usual. What a sad moment for our club after 45 years. How are we going to entertain our patrons who are supporting our club tonight.
Thank goodness for our sound man, who stepped up to help out. Another one of our musos arrived a bit later and also stepped up to help. After a phone call to secure someone to cover the bulk of the night, our local singer Bryce Rawlings saved the night and came in as our guest atsist at the last minute. This is very disappointing for out club that has been running successfully for 45 years to come to a point where we didn’t know if we were going to be able to go ahead with the night.
Moving forward if this trend continues, we don’t know how the club can be viable or financial to continue on. Remember this club belongs to you the patrons, the committee, and the musicians and singers and it needs us all to make it successful if this club is to continue into the future.
