Sexual violence in music industry and venues has to stop or the long term impacts will be as bad as the impacts of COVID. There have already been reports detailing what happens on a regular basis but it is up to venues to be proactive and try to prevent the situation from deteriorating.
In on example in the article, a bouncer ejected a female because she struck the offender who sexually assaulted her. Why didn't the bouncer eject the offender?
There should be clear signage in venues advising clients who experience this to approach staff to complain. Staff should be trained to deal with this. Other businesses, for the most part, are already on top of this.
