FLING Physical Theatre is a professionally supported youth dance company based in the Bega Valley on the beautiful far South Coast of NSW. We work with three core core Company groups- the FLING Company, with performers aged 14-18, Flux Creators 11-14yrs & YfLiNG for ages 7-10. All Companies support participants to develop skills in dance, physical theatre, gymnastics and performance. We also offer

a broad program of Community Classes, open to anyone, for ages 3 to adult, to support our community to get moving!

FAILURE marks a significant artistic step forward for FLING, championing fearless regional contemporary performance and employment for the next generation of Australian artists.

💥Jasper Clark is an emerging dance artist with interests in parkour, rock climbing, and piano.
He has been a part of FLING Company for 4 years. In this time he has performed and collaborated on many major works with the company; including The Tent by Rob McCredie, My Black Dog Film and After, directed by Beth Lane. In 2025 Jasper was a key collaborator in the development of FAILURE, created in partnership with Legs on the Wall. Alongside his work as a performing artist, Jasper is well loved in the FLING Community as a tutor, mentor and teacher.

We’re delighted to welcome arts sector extraordinaire Joshua Lowe to First Fridays to speak about Advocacy!

First Fridays extends our youth development program Take the Pressure Down, offering a monthly online series that opens up real conversations about careers in the creative industries. Targeting independent and emerging artists from across Australia, the program connects participants with industry leaders to unpack vital topics like governance, budgets, leadership, communication, and networks. By demystifying the practical steps into creative careers, First Fridays builds community, addresses gaps in knowledge, and strengthens the capacity of independent artists, fostering a more connected and stable sector.

A bold new contemporary performance work developed in partnership with Legs On The Wall
FAILURE explores the emotional and physical terrain of risk, expectation and the fear of getting it wrong.

💥Harry is an emerging dance artist based here in the Bega Valley on Djiringanj Land.
Through FLING, he has contributed to the development and performance of major works, including My Black Dog Film (2025), where he played a leading role as a performer and artistic collaborator. He has performed in stage and site-responsive works, including Gabrielle Rose’s Puffer (2023) at the Canberra Theatre Centre, Rob McCredie’s The Tent (2024) and AFTER (2025), choreographed by Beth Lane and Paddy Meessmann,
Harry discovered dance through acrobatics, parkour and martial arts, these movement styles alongside his dance training inform his ever developing movement style.

MayaRae is an emerging dance artist based on Djiringanj land, Bega Valley. She has worked and trained with FLING for most of her life.
In this time she has worked with leading artists on major FLING projects, including Rob McCredie’s film adaptation of his work ‘Body and Environment’, ‘Everything’s coming up Roses’ a site specific work by Gabby Rose and has been an integral collaborating artist across FAILURE’s initial development with FLING Company.

She’s inspired by the physical strength of the body and its capacity for effortless movement and artistic expression. Alongside dance, MayaRae has played roles in local theatre productions and enjoys the cross of forms between script and dance.

Our Regional Industry Education Partnerships program brought young people from schools across the region together for a performing arts industry immersion.
Talented young artists worked alongside industry professionals across dance, lighting design, costume design, and sound design.

Participants built practical career skills and experienced what it’s really like to present live performance. From developing artistic CVs and bios to collaborating on an original performance outcome, the week was all about exploring the pathways into the creative industries and discovering new possibilities.
