Two magpies have headed off to Port Macquarie to be part of the Zonta Art Show, an amazing charity helping with women’s rights and domestic violence.
They do things like put together birthing kits and send them to Africa, as well as doing a fair bit of work within Australia too.

I’m so grateful for the opportunity to exhibit in this art show amongst my art buddies & 🧡💗

Sunday mornings are for…

I love to do the things I like the least first, like tidying up, trying to match socks…anyone relates? 🤪

If I can brave the 4 degrees like this morning, I’d go for a run (a new activity I’ve taken on to challenge myself physically and mentally - doing things that make me feel quite uncomfortable I hate the cold!! 🥶).

Then, with a tidy home, I feel I have a nice space to relax, try a new recipe, play board games.

Attention Colour Loving Creatives🎨

Last few spaces available for my Colour Mixing workshop at .door.studios.workshops on 26th May.

Colour can be scary, but it doesn’t have to be. I remember when I started painting, I just wanted to stay with black and white as I lacked the confidence to use colour.

It is actually quite simple to understand colour, if you know some easy concepts.
We’ll spend a day going through these concepts and working on a series of exercises so you leave with the tools that will help you create harmony in your art.

You’ll learn about warm/cool, colour wheel, why you may be mixing mud… and much more.

We’ll be working in oils with all materials provided - but if you work in acrylics, gouache or watercolours, you’re welcomed to byo.

Sassy Magpie & Stone Fruit 🖼️

I love the pink showing through the minty green background in the Stone Fruit artwork. It’s great when these bits show through, which doesn’t always happen.

Sassy Maggie is a retake of an oldie but a goodie. I love the pose and that cool attitude.
Reminds me of Beyoncé’s Sasha Fierce 💃

Yesterday at The Huddle big event, I tried to share my business in a 30-second pitch to over 700 women.

I raised my hand, with my heart pounding even at the mere -thought- of it.

I didn’t get picked to talk, but you know what, as scary and vulnerable and exposing as it feels, I’m going to freaking do it here.
Because I’m feeling brave and because I am So Super Freaking Proud of how far I’ve come.

Having had zero knowledge or interest throughout my life in running a small business, I find myself today in the shoes of one.

So here it goes, My 30-Second Pitch:

“Hey, I’m Yani Lenehan and I’m so lucky to have so many colour lovers here! Because, lucky for me and you, I create super colourful things for your home - think original artworks, prints, tea towels, calendars…

Not only that, for those painters and ceramicists, and anyone pretty much who uses liquid medium in their art or as a hobby (oil, acrylic, watercolour) my “Colour Mixing Solved” online course is launching again in the next couple of months.

So, if you’re looking for:
- vibrant, fresh and bright Art, and/or
- you want to be great at mixing your colours, and/or
