A couple of weeks ago I had the honour to create this special tattoo for one of the strongest women I have ever met.
It’s taken me a while to post this as I wanted to express not only the story behind this, but to spread awareness.
Trigger warning: infant loss
CDH: Congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) is a birth defect where a hole in the diaphragm allows abdominal organs to move into the chest cavity during fetal development, which crowds and stunts the growth of the lung.
Approximately 120 Australian families are affected by CDH every year. It is a rare, life threatening birth condition that can affect any pregnancy. There is no known cause or cure.
The half lung represents babies condition, the flowers are mum & bubs birth flowers combined.
Rest in everlasting peace Baby G, an angel earth side & now in heaven. Gone but never forgotten.
The owner of this tattoo is the strongest, determined woman & mother that I have been so lucky enough to meet. I wish for her, her partner & family, prayers & well wishes as they navigate their journey ahead.
