Last weekend I had some of my art exhibited at a local show - Newbridge Art Show.

I didn’t win and they didn’t sell but that wasn’t my expectation or aim. I just would like to be known as an artist in my area and this was a step in that direction.

I even dream of running my own art show one day.

I am making a miniature dollhouse-sized (1:12) art gallery and I made 3 little mini scarfs today! I’m new to needle felting but I had fun. And the ASMR in this video seems quite enjoyable too.

I’m discovering my drawing/painting style! My final artwork is the first 2?photos, but you can see all my drafts too.

Turns out I really enjoy quick, expressive, almost abstract drawing & painting. I struggled with this bird for so long while I was trying to make them accurate to my photo. But as soon as I loosened up, it all came together! I’d completed two prior bird paintings in a similar style, but I hadn’t locked down why they were good or how to do them again. Now I understand and I feel more confident about replicating this with more aussie birds!
This was created with a combination of alcohol markers and posca paint pens on bristol smooth 250gsm paper and is inspired by a photo I took of an Eastern Rosella.
