These hammers have been in my family for generations...
Two planishing hammers, the handles worn over nearly a hundred years of use, an anvil from my uncle which was probably also in my grandfather’s workshop come to think of it, and a forging hammer from my dad’s mate Des.
The two planishing hammers were my grandfathers.. they could’ve been my great grandfathers though I’m not sure: I know they came to me through my father, who used them for more than 40 years. And now I do.
I think about the hands these tools passed through when I pick them up.

IMO the same goes for jewellery you’ve been gifted over decades… or from past relationships; it’s the pieces we can’t quite let go of, even though we never wear them.
There’s usually a good reason they sit there; they belonged to someone else’s life, someone else’s taste and changing anything feels a bit wrong.
I think though, that we could bring those materials forward Into something made for your life, without losing where they came from.
If you have pieces like that, I’d love to hear about them. My DM is always open.

Things I love about early winter... mulled wine, all the biting things going to bed, and more excuses to wear brooches.
One of my favourite things is wrapping up in a scarf or jacket and having more places to put jewels.
Some of these I’ve made, some I’ve bought from students and other artists, and many I’ve thrifted along the way — they just live permanently on whatever blazer or coat they land on 🙌
I also have some lovely pieces in store if you share the obsession and need to add to your collection 😜

Why do I make bespoke work?
Because it allows us to make something more personal than anything you can find ready-made. A bespoke piece can be tailored to your lifestyle, your taste, your story. It can incorporate heirloom materials, or bring together combinations of materials that are unique to you.
And it also keeps things fresh for me. It’s a dialogue rather than me just putting a design out into the world and hoping it resonates.

Harsh truths about commissioning bespoke jewellery…
Choosing the right jeweller is probably the most important decision you’ll make. Take a good look at their work & If their aesthetic and values don’t resonate with you it’s probably not the right fit.
Budget matters. Being upfront about what you want to spend means I can tell you what’s possible and adjust my approach accordingly.
And think about your life and how you want to wear the piece. These factors have to be part of the brief

I promised I’d show you when they were done…

These have been delivered now, and I can finally share them properly. Silver and 18ct gold, sapphires and quartz that they had collected for decades — and the imagery came from his own work as an artist.

Not wedding rings; something that is more like them, merging the life they’ve built together and the story that came with them. I loved making these 🫶

TWO YEARS AT THE ATELIER 🥳🌈🎂

I can’t believe I almost let two years in slide on by… but here we are. I love *LOVE* having a retail studio closer to the thrum that makes me and my work more accessible, I love seeing more of you more often and I love creating a beautiful space 💘🫶

My sincere thanks and endless gratitude to all of my friends and clients who have supported me and my work in the past two years. I’ve learnt so much and I’m SO EXCITED for what’s coming 🩷🥰🔥🎂🫶💘🌈🙏🏽
