Exciting news...
CSIRO are now taking pre-orders for the Flora of the Hunter Region book. I had the pleasure of creating four illustrations for this edition and and one for the second book coming out next year.

Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this project to fruition. Amazing effort.

The Hunter Region, between the Hawkesbury and Manning rivers in eastern New South Wales, hosts a rich diversity of vegetation, with many species found nowhere else. Spanning an area from the coast to the tablelands and slopes, its rainforests, wet and dry sclerophyll forests, woodlands, heathlands,....

Well the year has begun with some exciting turns of events...

I'm in the process of quoting for a project with La Trobe University's Agribio facility, for phenotypic, scientific illustrations of rice, barley, arabidopsis, and poppies for an open access data visualisation tool. Very exciting. Wish me luck.

In the meantime I've applied for casual work at Maitland Regional Art Gallery doing my dream job and I'm very excited for a possible future there. I know I'm going to miss the comradery of the Uni environment and this will be a perfect compliment to my artistic pursuits.

This week will also be a fun one where I'll be getting stuck into creating my own studio space (with the help of a terrific friend) separate from the house. I've shrewdly picked up some great carpet tiles as a start and I can't wait to see the studio develop. Here's a 'before' photo and I'll update when done.

Have a fun week everyone!

A couple of quick snaps from our end of year Uni exhibition. Thank you to all of the lecturers who have expertly guided me through the years. The biggest thank you of all goes to my family, near and far, who have endured year after year of my 'Uni talk' and who have suffered less than my full attention. Thank you all for your support and endless patience. 😍

More artworks to be uploaded tomorrow. I don't want to spoil the surprise of the exhibition tonight :-)

If you're free come along. Design building, Newcastle University, 5:30pm - 8:30pm.

Welcome to my new Facebook art page.

I'm excited to be taking the next step of my journey now that I have finished my Bachelor of Natural History Illustration, and creating for art sake rather than for Uni.

If you're interested in further information or perhaps to commission some work check out my new website: www.natureillustrated.com.au
