❗️ UPDATE - The ball is still going ahead!

The Alice on the Jericho Road is currently 0.6 and is falling. Inspections are being carried out regularly and as soon as it can open, it will. All are hopeful for tomorrow morning.

Blackall to Barcaldine is currently closed and will be for some time, but Blackall to Jericho is open. An extra hour sight seeing to see our beautiful region lovely and green (if) the Alice drops in time on the Jericho Road.

Longreach to Barcaldine - completely open, a luscious and green drive!

Aramac to Barcaldine open with caution.

Whilst we understand that some can’t make it and have to sell tickets, a majority of ticket holders are still very keen for the event.

Please see updates from the BRC road report below! We will continue to keep you updated. We can’t stipulate enough how hard the decision is to cancel or postpone an event like this. We hear you and we are doing all we can to keep you updated! The town is already buzzing sith ball goers that have already arrived!

Now - for our non alcohol consumers, we got you! Four iconic flavours of Naked Life Mocktails will be available at the ball (and we say iconic as these baddies are precious cargo and are about to land at Barcaldine airport). Thank you to Iris an Roko!

👀Our region is WET! But it’s slowly opening up. Fingers crossed for before the weekend!

We understand some are selling tickets that can’t make it. We are glad to see some local people or those that can attend purchasing these.

Events of this scale are hard to simply “postpone” or “call off”. We have enough food and beverages sitting for 400 ready to go! Plus, the bills still need to be paid! Along with many other logistics to take in to consideration. It’s not as easy as it sounds.

WE ARE FULL STEAM AHEAD AND SO EXCITED to see you all!

We have also had a number of people assuming our town (Barcaldine) is flooding. This is not the case.

Finally, we hope those that are affected by flooding are safe and we are most definitely thinking of you.
