Last night, from the ashes of burnt diaries and diaries burnt, a phoenix rose showcasing the courage that a safe tribe can evoke.

It carried humility, longing, belonging, the privilege of grief, the cost of love, laughter, colour-coded emotions, teenage nostalgia, imagined futures, and even a multidimensional resistance to the dreaded condition called "maturity."

We watched comedy find its live audience for the very first time. We travelled back in time, peeked into the future, and we held a satellite.

Yes—we held an actual satellite...

Thank you to the Australian Space Agency and some of Australia's finest universities, to trust Sukruti Narayanan of AIMERS Foundation and ShaktiSat with their Waratah Seed Model where its twin is currently orbiting in space for 22 months now! Sukruti, thank you, for for trusting Crossover Stories and allowing SafetyPin to remain a home where remarkable journeys in STEM and the empowerment of young women can sit comfortably beside poems, songs and stories. It means a lot that our community gets to share in milestones that are changing the world.

Thank you to Rashid Siddique, whose words have captured the spirit of SafetyPin before, and who returned carrying two beautifully written gifts—this time honouring the co-founders and reminding us how deeply this little gathering can touch people's lives.

And thank you to everyone who dug deep, found the courage to bring something from within, and placed it gently in the middle of the room for all of us to witness.

SafetyPin 22 asked us to turn ourselves Inside Out. You answered with more honesty, vulnerability and generosity than we could have imagined.

Thesw photos were taken by the few who stayed back till the very end—well past the planned finish, reluctant to let the night go.

No fire trucks were called.
But judging by the warmth in that room, perhaps they should have been.

You were all on fire. 🧷🔥

What began as a simple idea to “exchange notes” turned into something far more beautiful 💛

Stories were shared. Thoughts were unpacked. Food was passed around. Laughter found its way into quiet corners. Children played, conversations drifted, and somewhere between all of it, a little community felt even more real. 🌿✨

Grateful to everyone who came, contributed, listened, spoke, and simply showed up and most importantly could stay back!

Sometimes creative journeys don’t move forward through grand plans — sometimes they grow through picnics, potlucks, and people making time for one another.

Here’s to more stories. More gatherings. More crossing over.

🧷 SAFETYPIN 21 — BETWEEN TWO HOMES

What “home” meant was different for every person who took the mic.

For some, it was a place.
For some, a memory.
For some, a person.
For some, themselves.
For some, something they are still searching for.

And somehow, many who came to “just watch” ended up sharing parts of themselves they hadn’t planned to.

That is the quiet magic of SafetyPin.
Strangers walk in. A room full of stories & friendshups walks out.

Our gratitude to everyone who trusted this space, to the first timers, to those who keep returning, and especially to the ones who stayed back till the very end!

To hear many of you call SafetyPin “home” means more than words can hold. 🧷
