As a jewellery designer, I will take my audience on an experiential journey using ‘metal and stone’ as my sacred script to chronicle the last 38 years of my life on Gadigal Country (Sydney).
As a young teen arriving in 1988 from Aotearoa (New Zealand), I will be sharing my most personal story to date.
Despite the trauma and loss, my exhibition is ultimately about resilience and survival.
Each jewellery piece reflects an element of my ‘unyielding’ spirit as a woman, artist and spiritual warrior!
I have created a space for my guests to take a moment out of their lives ... to pause… and be truly present.
For this event, I decided to break it up into different time slots to allow smaller groups to walk through. Each guest will be given their own set of headphones 🎧 with a recording I curated, for clarity of ‘sound’.
One of the key elements, (and MOST important for this exhibition) is JOY 🙌🏾..... so there will be little surprises along the way.
Although the tickets are FREE, it is paramount that if you book a ticket and are unable to attend, that you please CANCEL your ticket straight away to allow others to attend this very precious evening.
Regardless if you love jewellery.... ART or if you’re just curious about this night, the most important element.... is CONNECTION.
It’s a chance for you to connect to ‘self’….. so you can connect to my ‘story’, whilst connecting to others in our ‘community’.
