Yep, once you have kids, your car quickly stops being a car and turns into a travelling snack museum.

Crumbs in every corner.
Half-eaten biscuits in the cup holders.
And that drink bottle you are scared to sniff because you are not even sure who it belongs to.

If this feels familiar, you are not alone.

And just like that car, your child’s sleep can sometimes feel a little chaotic too. Unpredictable nights, constant wake ups, and routines that seem to fall apart overnight.

The good news is that sleep does not have to stay messy.

With the right guidance and a bit of consistency, sleep can shift from stressful to smooth. Small, realistic changes can make a big difference and help the whole family get more rest.

Need support with your little one’s sleep? I cannot help with the crumbs in the car, but I can help you get better sleep.

Day 2 of the Women in Leadership Summit Melbourne!

After such an incredible first day, I’m heading into today feeling very grateful (and thankfully, a little less nervous!).

Yesterday gave me the opportunity to speak about a topic I care so deeply about and have some really meaningful conversations about the role sleep plays in how we lead, work and live.

The response was such a great reminder of just how important these conversations are.

Today, I’ll be presenting my second workshop:

What’s Stealing My Sleep?

We’ll be looking at some of the things that can quietly get in the way of quality sleep, from stress and the mental load to habits, routines and our inability to truly switch off.

Because sometimes the first step towards better sleep is understanding what’s actually keeping us awake.

I’m looking forward to another day of learning, connection and bringing sleep further into the conversation around leadership and wellbeing.

Bring on Day 2!

Today is Day 1 of the Women in Leadership Summit Melbourne... which means it’s officially time to stop talking about how nervous I am and actually get up there and do it!

Today I’ll be presenting my first leadership workshop:

Sleep. My Leadership Advantage.

For me, today is really about starting a different conversation.

We often wear exhaustion as a badge of honour, particularly when we’re ambitious, busy and responsible for a lot of people and things.

But being constantly tired shouldn’t be the price we pay for success or leadership.

I’m looking forward to sharing some practical insights today, having some meaningful conversations and hopefully helping people think a little differently about the role sleep plays in how we show up each day.

It feels like such a privilege to have a seat at this table and share something I care so deeply about.

Nervous? Very.

Grateful and excited? Even more so.

Let’s do this!

IS YOUR LITTLE ONE READY TO DROP A NAP?

One refused nap and suddenly you're wondering...
“Is this it? Are naps over?!”

The answer is, not necessarily!

Nap transitions are rarely decided by one difficult day.
Instead, look for patterns.

You might notice your little one is:
💤 Regularly refusing a nap
💤 Taking much longer to fall asleep
💤 Suddenly struggling at bedtime
💤 Happily staying awake for longer periods
💤 Experiencing changes to their overnight sleep

And remember, there isn't one exact age or day when every child should change their naps.

Every child is different.

Look at your child, their overall sleep and how they're coping during the day before making a big change.

If you're stuck in the “Do they need this nap or not?!” stage, get in touch as we can help you work it out. 💙

When my second child arrived, everything I thought I knew about sleep went out the window.

The nights were long. The days were a blur.
And somewhere in between, I stopped recognising myself.

I remember standing in the kitchen one morning, holding my coffee (and not just for the taste!) and wondering how something as simple as sleep could feel so far out of reach.
That was the moment I knew, something had to change.

Finding my way back to sleep didn’t just restore my energy; it brought me back.
My patience.
My presence.
My joy.

That experience is exactly why I now do what I do.

Because I know firsthand how hard it is to function, to parent, to be yourself when you’re running on empty.

And I also know the transformation for the entire family that happens when rest finally returns.

Helping other families find their way back to sleep isn’t just my passion, it’s personal.

If this sounds like you, book your free sleep evaluation today and let’s help you find your way back to the rested version of you.

THE POWER OF BEDTIME CUES...

Sometimes the simplest things can make a big difference at bedtime.

Reading a book together each night can become a beautiful bedtime cue, helping your child recognise:

“The day is slowing down. It’s nearly time for sleep.” 😴

A familiar bedtime story can help:

✨ Create consistency and predictability
✨ Give your child time to slow down before sleep
✨ Move away from screens and stimulation
✨ Create a calm transition between playtime and bedtime
✨ Give you some lovely one-on-one connection time

And it doesn't need to be an elaborate routine.

Bath/shower, pjs on, a cuddle and a favourite book, white noise on and then lights out can be enough to create a familiar rhythm your child begins to associate with sleep.

Those little routines can become some of the moments they remember most. 💙

What book is currently on repeat at bedtime in your house?

Meet the beautiful, content, 3 month old Jack 👶

He is now 4 months old and completely sailed through his 4 month change as we got into a great spot before it even hit! What an absolute joyous journey. I love this age, and I can't stress enough, the sooner you get help, the sooner you can side step months or years of sleep deprivation. Your child will be a great sleeper for life, yep, for life. Your parenting journey is a completely different ball game when you have a great sleeper. Please don't struggle unnecessarily if you have the option to reach out for support. You won't regret one second of our time together.

📚The magic of a good book 📚

In light of Book Week, and it has me thinking about those special childhood books that somehow stay with us long after we’ve grown up.

For me, The Magic Faraway Tree was one of them. I still remember being completely transported into that magical world every single time I read it. It never lost its magic.

Then there was The BFG, Roald Dahl, Judy Blume... love, love, LOVE!

And now, one of my favourite things is seeing that love of reading continue with my boys. 💙

Aside from the joy of getting lost in a great story, reading can also be a beautiful part of your child’s bedtime routine.

I often encourage families to include a book before bed. That familiar routine of slowing down, cuddling up and reading together can become a lovely sleep cue, helping your child recognise that the busy part of the day is over and it’s time to wind down for sleep. 😴

And some of the best conversations and cuddles happen over a bedtime story too.

So, in celebration of CBCA Book Week, I’d love to know...

📖 What was YOUR favourite book growing up? And what book can your child not get enough of right now?

Share them below. I’d love some recommendations!

💡SLEEP TIP💡BEDTIME ROUTINES

A bedtime routine each night is more than just a habit—it's the perfect wind down for your children, and they absolutely LOVE spending this precious time with you at the end of each big day.

These moments of calm are not just about getting ready for bed; they're about building lasting bonds and creating a sense of security. Whether it's reading a favorite story, sharing cuddles, or talking about the day, this time together is invaluable.

Beyond the emotional connection, there's science at work too. The calmness of the routine, paired with dimmer lighting, helps stimulate melatonin production, the sleep hormone that makes it easier for them to drift off peacefully.

By embracing a consistent bedtime routine, you're not only helping your children sleep better—you're also nurturing their overall well-being and strengthening your relationship. It's a win-win for everyone!
