PRIYANKA - Blank Canvas

Priyanka is based in Sydney and is an interdisciplinary educator and artist who made her professional stage debut in EFC Ludowyk’s, “He Comes from Jaffna” at the Lighthouse Theatre.

She has vast experience across the arts, performing and teaching drama as well as teaching secondary English in the Western suburbs of Sydney. As a teacher, she is keen to highlight the diverse human experiences in literature and encourage her students to be creative, critical and conscious thinkers who will one day engage with society as transformative global citizens. A passionate writer, the principal themes in her compositions consist of the ongoing tensions experienced by women, migrants, refugees, Eelam Thamizhs and First Nations Australians. She is inspired by the past, present and what is to come and her aim is to challenge the single narrative, bringing colour and chaos to literature and the arts.
