Meet Mario✨️

Mario is our fearless leader at Rio Dance Studio, after starting with Rio in the 90s he knows just what it takes to make a lesson the highlight of your week.

After 51 years of dancing, Mario still loves seeing the moment a student realises they’re capable of more than they thought 🕺

Known for his patience, humour, and technical knowledge, he’s the kind of teacher who makes everyone feel comfortable the moment they walk through the door.

According to Mario, his secret talent is that he can tie a cherry stem in his mouth without using his fingers 🍒

Julia has been dancing for as long as she can remember — starting at just 3 years old 💕

She loves the freedom, creativity and storytelling behind dance and brings a playful but detailed approach to teaching.

Her favourite moments are watching students step outside their comfort zone, perform, and realise they’re capable of so much more than they expected ✨

Johnnie says he officially started dancing at 17… but honestly, it feels like he came out of the womb performing ✨

He brings huge energy to every class, loves making people laugh, and has a way of turning lessons into something students genuinely look forward to each week 💛

When he’s not dancing, he’s writing novels… or apparently listening to Baby Shark voluntarily 🦈

Meet Suzannah ✨️

For Suzannah, dancing has always been about confidence, connection, and having fun ✨

Since starting at 14, she’s fallen in love with Latin dancing and now loves helping nervous first-timers realise they’re more capable than they think 💃

She’s calm, welcoming, community-focused… and somehow still has Dance Wiv Me by Dizzee Rascal on repeat 🎶😂
