✨ THE MAGICAL TOY EMPORIUM ✨
Hidden behind its grand doors lies a world where toys come to life, imagination knows no limits, and every shelf holds a new adventure waiting to unfold.
Join us on Saturday, December 5th as our dancers take audiences on a magical journey through an enchanting emporium filled with wonder, excitement and unforgettable characters.
From elegant ballerinas and dazzling dolls to playful toys, magical creatures and thrilling adventures, this spectacular production will showcase the incredible talents of our dancers across ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap, contemporary, hip hop, musical theatre, character dance and more.
We cannot wait to watch our dancers bring this magical story to life over the coming months. The costumes, choreography, music and storytelling are going to be truly spectacular!

Our beautiful young ballerinas working hard on their ballet conditioning and strengthening exercises this week.
Strong dancers are built through consistent training, good technique, and attention to the little details. These exercises help develop core strength, posture, flexibility, coordination, and body awareness, creating the foundation for safe and successful ballet training.
We are so proud of the concentration, determination, and beautiful work ethic these dancers bring to every class. The future is bright for this lovely group of students.
At the Gay Wightman School of Ballet, we believe that strong foundations create confident dancers, both in the studio and on the stage.

Tonight we were absolutely delighted to welcome gorgeous little Davina into our Melbourne Ballet Company Extension Program.
This special invitation-only program is designed for dedicated young dancers who demonstrate a love of ballet, a strong work ethic, and a passion for learning. We are so excited to support Davina as she continues to develop her technique, artistry, confidence, and performance skills.

Character dance is one of the most exciting and colourful styles in the world of ballet.
Did you know that many of the world’s most famous ballets include character dance? Audiences can enjoy beautiful character variations in classics such as Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, Coppélia, Don Quixote, Giselle and The Nutcracker.
Character dance brings the traditions, music and movement of different cultures to life. Dancers learn stylised folk dances inspired by countries including Spain, Hungary, Russia, Poland, Italy and many more.
Our character dancers develop strong musicality, coordination, posture, artistry and performance skills, all while exploring the rich history and traditions behind each dance.
Most importantly, character dance is incredibly fun! From lively jumps and turns to expressive storytelling and vibrant music, every class is filled with energy, imagination and joy.
We love seeing our dancers discover new cultures, build confidence and experience this beautiful and important part of classical ballet training. We are offering all our dancers a free trial in character this week for our Try It Week ❤️

As we saw on the stage yesterday our beautiful Primary Ballet ballerinas are proving that every great dancer starts with a first plié, a first skip, and a love of dance.
Each week these young dancers are building confidence, coordination, musicality, creativity, and friendships that can last a lifetime. Behind every smile is a little dancer learning to listen, focus, work as part of a team, and believe in themselves.
We are so proud of these gorgeous young ballerinas and the joy they bring into the studio. Watching them twirl, imagine, learn, and grow is one of the most rewarding parts of dance education.
The journey to becoming a dancer starts with a single ballet class, and these little stars are already shining ❤️

What an incredible day! 🌟

A huge congratulations to all of our wonderful dancers on four outstanding performances today at Camberwell Grammar. From our tiniest Little Ballerinas to our advanced senior dancers, every performer stepped onto the stage with confidence, dedication, and joy.

We were so proud to showcase the incredible variety of dance at our Technical Demonstrations, including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Lyrical, Character, Pointe, Musical Theatre, and our inspiring VCE VET Dance Solo Performances.

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing teaching team, choreographers, backstage crew, theatre technicians, helper mums, volunteers, Lyndal our Backstage Manager and Camberwell Grammar staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the day such a success.

Most importantly, thank you to our wonderful dance families for your support, encouragement, and trust throughout the year. We could not do it without you.

Today was a celebration of hard work, growth, creativity, and community, and we couldn’t be prouder of every dancer who took to the stage.

Bravo everyone! We hope you are all feeling so proud and celebrating a fantastic achievement. ❤️
