Here is why working on vertical surfaces is beneficial to your child!
// Vertical Surfaces // Wonder what vertical surfaces have got to do with learning? Here are some reasons why children should work on vertical surfaces:
1. Hand Eye Coordination Skills
This is having the ability to process information received from the eyes to control and guide the movements of the hands. Working on a vertical surface requires children to concentrate, practice their visual attention as well as increase hand eye coordination skills.
2. Crossing the Midline
This is the ability to cross your body from one side to another. This is an important developmental skill which helps in everyday tasks such as putting on shoes and socks, tying shoelaces and even writing.
3. Spatial Awareness
A vertical surface helps in providing opportunities for children to develop an understanding in the concept of directions such as left, right, up and down.

Ps. This was one taken at the messy shed in Balwyn (Victoria) Definitely a place worth checking out with the little ones.
