Endorsing the Winchelsea Music Season!

Geelong Opera is delighted to support today's Winchelsea Music Season concert, Céad Míle Fáilte (“One Hundred Thousand Welcomes”) At the Globe Theatre Winchelsea. presented by Rural Arts Victoria.

Featuring the wonderful local ensemble Celts of the Colony, this special afternoon and evening will celebrate Irish and Scottish Gaelic music, traditional instruments, storytelling and the rich musical heritage of the Celtic world.

There is also an optional Scottish Country Dance Workshop at 4pm, followed by the concert at 5pm. With a light supper included, school students free and the warm welcome of the historic Globe Theatre, this promises to be a wonderful community occasion.

We encourage our Geelong Opera friends and supporters to get along and enjoy this celebration of music, heritage and regional artistic excellence.

🎶 The Very Best of Gilbert & Sullivan – New Date Coming Soon! 🎭

We are very sorry that The Very Best of Gilbert & Sullivan has had to be postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported the concert, purchased tickets, shared our posts, and encouraged Geelong Opera. Your enthusiasm for this production has meant a great deal to us.

Gilbert & Sullivan's wonderful music deserves its moment on stage, and we will be back with a new date. We look forward to welcoming you to Geelong West Town Hall for an afternoon of music, humour and some of the most beloved operatic melodies in the repertoire.

Hello lovely people; we're still on the look- out for a loan of a good keyboard ( just for our final couple of Sun afternoon dress rehearsals - and the performance on Oct 25th; if anyine works in a school and wouldn't mind loaning 1 we'd be very grateful! Unfortunately our insurance policy doesn't cover equipment that's not our own , so the keyboard would need to have it's own insurance ( through whichever organisation owns it( we do, of course have public liability insurance, so there would be poss of some compensation there; however it wouldn't be worth the risk.

Trybooking is officially open for Geelong Opera's 'The Very Best of Gilbert and Sullivan'! Please get in early and get those tickets booked! Tix will also be available for purchase at the door- however we highlyok encourage you to ask to go onto the door list if you intend to go this way to avoid disappointment! Tickets: $30 , $25.

Geelong Opera is seeking to borrow a good - quality keyboard suitable for our accompanist to play for our concert coming up in October ( 'The Very Best of Gilbert and Sullivan' - Geelong West Town Hall, 2.pm, Oct 25th).
The keyboard would be covered under our insurance- but would be treated with kid gloves- and kept under lock and key between uses.
We'd need it for at least a few rehearsals before the gig; if anyone has access to a good 1 at school- and needed it through the week- since almost all rehearsals take place on Sun afternoons, we'd be happy to pick it up for the weekends/ return to you for any activities for which it's required through the week.
If you're able to help- please pm me. We, at Geelong Opera would be extremely grateful for the assistance- and would, of course, give you an acknowledgement in the program.

We proudly present to you the following lovely performers- who've joined us from Geelong's vibrant Music Theatre and Opera scenes! Principals :

To lovers of G&S near and far.. our casting us ( almost)
complete for our performance of 'The Very Best of Gilbert and Sullivan' ( 25th Oct, 2.pm, In the historic Geelong West Town Hall. Principals are all set and all but 1 chorus member! We're seeking an enthusiastic and capable Baritone to round out the ensemble for this exciting, studio style production; with only 2 chorus members per part ( SATB) all chorus members will be very much featured performers and have lots of fun things to sing and act out sone lovely stagecraft- set by our wonderfully talented Directed Director, Sue Rawkins. I'm ( Lisa) going to be your MD in addition to 1 of the principals. If you'd like to be considered to fill the

Dear fellow singers
Geeling Opera is on the lookout for some singers who may be interested in joining our small chorus for 'The Very Best of Gilbert and Sullivan ' production ( Sunday 25th Oct, 2.pm) at the historic Geelong West Town Hall.
The only main prerequisites are that you're able to hold your part with only 1 other person singing the same- and that you can project/ be able to cope with some *simple* stage direction.
We're very happy to give young and emerging singers a great performance opportunity- or have more advanced singers.

🎭 Baritone Soloist & Male Chorus Voices Wanted 🎭

Geelong Opera is seeking a baritone soloist (honorarium provided) and male chorus singers for The Very Best of Gilbert & Sullivan, to be presented at Geelong West Town Hall on Sunday 25 October 2026.

The baritone soloist will perform a variety of featured repertoire, including solo numbers, duets, and ensemble works, drawn from Gilbert & Sullivan's most beloved operettas.

We also welcome expressions of interest from male chorus singers, including emerging artists, music students, and developing performers seeking valuable stage experience in a supportive and enjoyable production environment.

This is an opportunity to be part of a celebration of the wit, humour and memorable melodies that have delighted audiences for generations.
