Further "show and tell"

• Karen has been embroidering, embellishing and colouring in with threads, so striking 👏
• Ollie used flowers from her garden, rolled in silk, and put in copper-water for a week, so delicate. Also she experimented with embroidering a flower first, then ecoprinting and boiling..the embroidery was miraculously unstained...remarkable! 😊
• Jenni S is working on pieces for the embroiderers guild exhibition, but l seem to have lost the photos, (sorry Jenni) so you will have to go to the exhibition to see them !👍

A selection of "show and tell" from Feb...whoops! March meeting tomorrow, Friday 20th, at Sebastopol library 1.30 onwards.

• Gayle ecoprinted leaves from her garden, onto recycled tablecloth/sheets, then made a bag, and used the ties from her binding for the handles 👏
• Sue had a selection of Kutch fabrics, dyed in giant ponds over there 😊
• Liz showed her latest hexis, and beautiful embroidered collage 👏
• Lois has been making fringes and sumptuous tassels 😊
• Jenni E brought 2 further examples of her orangutan project, and some fascinating small metal animals..possibilities?👏

BFTN stand over the weekend. Photos by Karen F, our secretary/treasurer. A lively weekend, many chats, hopefully some new members, lots to see (and purchase 😂)
Many thanks to those who helped out, supplied pieces for display, and especially Shelagh for organising and filling in, and working hard for our group. 💪👏👍🌻

Further Show and Tell.
Gloria showed a delicate painting, machine embroidered and with lace blossoms "a bit like applique..but not" she says. Also examples of her exquisite Blackwork, and a lovely case for holding the tools of trade.
Kay brought samples for her final workshop of the year..Stitching with Heart. Textiles, Memory and Connection. She has dyed backgrounds with tea and turmeric, honouring her Ancestry in her Chinese great grandparents, and incorporated real flowers, and many other memories into her fine work.
Another creative month ahead 😊🙏

Show and tell displaying our member's many skills and talents.
Shelagh found early samples of her textile prowess in a sweet doll she made from felt, at a craft class after school, at about age 6-7, and a stitch sampler and draw work piece from yr 7, when she was 12 years old.
Liz continued the "felt" theme with her flamboyant embroidered and beaded Dragon, and also showed a beautifully stitched koala.
Pauline showed a pair of birds, embroidered over batik, with colourful knot stitches providing texture... lovely and intricate work.
Carla brought a delicate raffia basket she made in a workshop, with a surprise inside. She likes new techniques which can then be incorporated into future works, with a variety of other techniques.
