Wild Village is held around a large body of water, so child safety has to be taken seriously. Over the years, the babes in arms policy had also been stretched beyond what it was intended for, with older babies and toddlers being brought along. Weโ€™d had women tell us theyโ€™d needed to step in when children got too close to the water or found themselves in situations where an adult needed to intervene.โฃ

We couldnโ€™t ignore that. But we also couldnโ€™t ignore the other side of it.โฃ
โฃ
New mums can be some of the loneliest and most vulnerable women in our community, and it didnโ€™t sit right with us that they could be excluded because other people had pushed the rules too far.โฃ

So we took it back to our board, worked through how we could make it safer, and ๐›๐š๐›๐ž๐ฌ ๐ข๐ง ๐š๐ซ๐ฆ๐ฌ ๐š๐ซ๐ž ๐ซ๐ž๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ง๐ข๐ง๐  ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”.โฃ

I have dreamed of having Kate on our stage since the very beginning. Before Wild Village had a shape, before women were gathering beneath the trees, before any of this became real, she was on the wish list.

Wild Village was born from a longing for something we couldnโ€™t find. A place where women could come together around extraordinary music and all the other things that make us feel alive.
