Well thats a wrap, I suppose. We have sold out of burger patties, chips etc and the minimal that is left, I have organised to donate to homeless shelters to be made up for families without this christmas. All toys, fidgets and lollies will be bundled for these families kids to ensure they get something under the tree. Thank you very much to Nayi who has offered to collect everything and take it to the different shelters for me, very much appreciated.

This means that we are now closed and will start packing the cafe up. I couldnt think of a better way to finish, the pageant was fantastic and very well organised. Well done to everyone involved and thank you for letting us be part of it.

Thank you very much to Balaklava and all surrounding areas who visited and supported me regularly. You made this cafe what it was with your ideas and feedback. I will be forever grateful to have had this experience and to have met so many amazing people who are now friends. What a way to meet people when you move to a new town lol. But in true me style, everything is go hard or go home!

A huge thank you to my amazing staff, you have all helped to shape the cafe and helped me to keep going in what has been a crazy adventure.

I am sad that we have closed but excited to see what a new year holds. I am off for a break with my kids and will keep you updated on my future adventures.

Closure notices. As the weather is predicted to be 42 on Thursday, we will be closed for the day. It was very hot in the kitchen today and not comfortable for staff. We will also be open on Friday 11-3pm and then heading to help with a bbq for the Balaklava pageant. We will be open as normal 11-7pm on Saturday and Sunday for our last trading day. We have had fidgets, craft, stationary and lollies half price, so if you havent had a chance to grab some cheap stocking fillers, head in over the weekend before we close. Thank you

It is with a heavy heart that I will be closing Whimsical Cafe 😪

In doing some research, I found out that the building was listed for sale in October, which means that the food co-op was cancelled as well. This news hit me hard, as there have been conversations around pushing to get it started recently but it does explain the delay. I am a very upfront person, and to find out this way does not sit right with me. But business is business and unfortunately this space is too expensive to continue without the Food Co-op.

I am so incredibly proud of myself for what I have accomplished and the space that I have created. It has been a huge task to create something like this and get to where I did with no kitchen experience. But pure determination and passion drove the last 15 months. It has taken its toll on my family and myself, but it became our second home, and I will be so sad to see it go.

You all know me and know that the ideas haven't stopped, I do have something in mind that I will be working on. I am sad but becoming excited for the next adventure, and this time, it will be 100% on my terms.

I have kept short term leases with this property but have decided that instead of staying until mid January, my last trading day will be 21st Dec. This way, I can spend quality time over Christmas and the holidays with my kids.

I will be pushing the council, churches and others hard to continue this as a community space because we have all seen that it is needed here. The kids made it there own space to hang out, it kept them off the streets and out of the weather. There are many people in the community who are willing to volunteer their time, and a community centre is the perfect way for them to do that while the kids and families have the space that they need. I am forever grateful that I had the opportunity to show what this space can deliver.

I have ordered my last lot of chips, fish, yiros, burgers and dinos and will continue to bake potatos. All items will finish once stock is sold out.

We will be doing a bbq at the Balaklava christmas pageant on 19th Dec.

My menu will definitely be back just in a different way but for now, come in, say hi and get your favourites.

Thank you very much for all of your support in this adventure, I have met so many amazing people and have gained so many good friends. I feel so blessed and grateful to have had the opportunity to meet you all and will hold this time in my life close to my heart.
