As the curtain closes on another incredible year of Burdekin Junior Eisteddfod, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made BJE 2026 such a success.
Over 13 amazing days, we had the privilege of witnessing 2,784 competitors take to the stage and showcase their talents across Dance, Music, Speech & Drama, Highland & Irish, Art, Literacy and Photography. The talent, dedication and passion on display throughout the eisteddfod was outstanding.
One of the most special things we see each year is the friendships that are formed. Watching competitors cheer each other on, support one another and celebrate each other's achievements is something truly special. We also have to thank them for keeping us “oldies” up to date with the latest TikTok trends and teaching us a move or two side stage 🫰🏻🤣
To our competitors, thank you for your hard work, courage and commitment. To the teachers, parents and supporters who encourage and guide these talented young people, thank you for everything you do behind the scenes.
To our adjudicators, thank you for sharing your time, experience and knowledge throughout the eisteddfod. Your positive feedback, encouragement and guidance provided valuable learning opportunities for our competitors and was greatly appreciated.
To our sponsors, your support continues to make this event possible and allows us to provide opportunities for our young performers and creatives. We are incredibly grateful for your generosity and commitment to our community.
To our volunteers and committee members, thank you for the countless hours you dedicate before, during and after the eisteddfod. Your work often goes unseen, but without you BJE simply would not happen.
A special moment this year was during our Music Awards evening, where we proudly inducted Mrs Cheryl Platt as a Life Member. Cheryl’s dedication, knowledge and commitment to Burdekin Junior Eisteddfod -
Close to 20 years has made a lasting impact, and this recognition was truly well deserved.
