Hi Members & Tableland Yidinji Community,

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will be undertaking an OO3 Ranger Intake, which will be advertised from 27–31 July 2026.

They are keen to ensure Rainforest Aboriginal Peoples and other local community members are aware of this opportunity and have sufficient time to prepare an application. Attached are promotional flyers for your information.

To support applicants in remote locations or those with limited access to digital services, a manual application option is also available. Local Ranger Officers can assist applicants by uploading resumes on their behalf or providing access to the external manual application questionnaire.

Please note that applicants using the external questionnaire will also need to email their resume and any supporting documentation to [email protected].

Applications submitted through this process will only be accessed during an intake period.

🔥Reminder - prescribed burning, or hazard reduction burns, are happening now in our plantation forest areas 🔥

Our prescribe burns:
✅are undertaken during the cooler months and are crucial for reducing potential wildfire severity during high-risk periods such as spring and summer.

✅produce low intensity fires aimed to reduce forest fuel loads from accumulated dry leaves, grass and fallen branches.

✅are reported and approved by the Qld Fire Department prior to ignition.

✅are undertaken only in favourable weather conditions.

While every effort is made to minimise impacts, unfortunately, some level of smoke is unavoidable. We encourage community members to follow relevant health advice when burns are underway.
