I’ll be holding a stall at the Maru Festival in Crows Nest.
It is a big Japanese market with handmade products, food, workshop, etc. Cannot wait to come back to Sydney and meet you guys again soon!😃

Wood Firing April 2026

It was my first wood firing in 10 years since the last one I did in Japan, and I was so excited and truly happy to experience it again. It brought back so many memories and reminded me why I fell in love with pottery and wood firing!😃

I’m very grateful to Joey for generously sharing the wood kiln, along with his knowledge and experience. We first met at TAFE 20 years ago, and recently happened to reconnect in Sydney and Canberra — it really felt like fate! I haven’t had much experience with wood firing, so it’s been wonderful to learn again 😊

Also, thank you for introducing me to Jacky .studio. It was such a pleasure to share this experience with someone so friendly and generous, and to learn so much about the wood firing community in Canberra. Connecting with new potters and sharing the same passion made the whole firing even more meaningful.

I’ve always loved wood firing and woodfired pots. This incredible experience brought me back a sense of anticipation and inspiration to create! I feel very lucky to have been part of this firing and I can’t wait for the next one! 😋 Big thanks to Joey and Jackey again!

My tiny little studio at home 😊

I’m so sorry it’s taken me a while to share an update about my studio. After much thought, I decided not to relocate my studio to new premises. Instead, I’ve created a small, humble space at home — with a tiny kiln that almost feels like a toy…😅

I do miss my big studio with its lively atmosphere though…😢 All my students, familiar customers, and the warmth of a creative community gathered together. Those memories are so precious to me, and they will always stay close to my heart.

This year, I’m slowly easing back into pottery, taking my time to rediscover the joy of making and reconnect with myself and my creativity, little by little. Some days are tentative, others quietly fulfilling, and I’m learning to embrace both. It’s a quieter, slower way of working, but in some ways it feels just right for now. Working in my own space, at my own pace, has brought me a sense of calm.

I’m taking a little break from running a studio and teaching for now, but I’m still accepting small orders and spending a lot of time making things simply for the love of it. Pottery is part of who I am.

I’m currently based in Canberra, but I’ll be returning to Sydney from time to time for events and markets — and I truly look forward to reconnecting with you all in this new chapter! 😃

I had a great time at the sake festival holding a stall with some of the students again this year! I’m not sure what I’m going to do at the moment but I hope we can do this again next year!😊

It has been raining endlessly… in the quiet, I’ve been spending time at home working on some Kintsugi designs. The steady sound of the rain has matched the stillness I’ve been craving, giving me space to focus, and breathe again. After all the exhaustion from moving out of my studio, I finally feel a sense of peace settling in.

This quiet moment feels like an invitation to pause and consider my own path—what I want to hold onto, what I’m ready to let go of, and how I would like to shape the next chapter.

I hope that the broken pieces of my life can be joined back together in a way that makes them stronger and more beautiful than before—just like in Kintsugi, where the cracks become part of the story. Perhaps the challenges and resilience in hardship I’m going through can become the very lines that give my life new depth, strength and meaning.
