Lae Oldmeadow

Lae Oldmeadow Born at Ipswich, Oldmeadow trained as an upholsterer in Emerald, Central Queensland.

He moved to the Northern Rivers region of NSW and began his artistic practice, working exclusively with local native fibres, effectively upholstering nature.

Lae has been working on 'Organism' for three years, sewing coir fibre into pods with his solar powered sewing machine then hand stitching them together into what is now a human sized 3D installation that will be unveiled at the Grafton Regional Gallery on March 1 in the group show 'True North'.
