This year's NAIDOC Week marks an incredible milestone: 50 years of honouring and elevating Indigenous voices, culture, and resilience.
The 2025 theme, "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy," celebrates not only the achievements of the past but the bright future ahead, empowered by the strength of our young leaders, the vision of our communities, and the legacy of our ancestors.
Join us during NAIDOC Week and beyond to celebrate the strength of our people, the vision of our youth and the legacy we all play a part in creating.

Over the weekend, we hosted a lunchtime gathering with human rights activist, trade union official and award-winning author, Thomas Mayo. The event was a resounding success! Thomas spoke about his book following the Uluru Statement from the Heart campaign and the importance of continuing the conversation.

Thank you to everyone who attended the event and to everyone who helped make it possible 😁

KOORI KNOCKOUT 50 YEARS

The New South Wales Aboriginal Rugby League Knockout Carnival or Koori Knockout, held each year over the October long weekend, is the largest gathering of First Nations people in NSW and the largest First Nations sporting event in Australia. The 2019 Knockout drew more than 30,000 people. Of course, it is all about the footy, but it is also recognised as a significant social and cultural event for First Nations communities.
Beginning in 1971, it aimed at highlighting the talents of First Nations players for professional selection. There were just seven men's teams in the first Knockout, played at Camdenville Oval, St Peters. Today, the Knockout includes women's and junior teams. Its success is a tribute to the vision of the original founders.
The 2022 carnival in Nowra marked the long-awaited 50th anniversary of the Knockout.

Come on in to the Armidale Cultural Centre & Keeping Place and checkout the Exhibition.
