Noted historian and writer Gillian Po**ck will present a talk on the history of the Jewish community in Australia. Saturday, April 18 at Tamworth Library from 11am.

She asks why Jews in 19th century regional Australia (including Tamworth) are so very important and why don't we know much about them?"

Livestreamed from Canberra and hosted by Tamworth Library, the presentation will also touch on researching Jewish Australian family stories, followed by a live Q&A session with Gillian.

A big thank you to everyone who came along to Sophie Masson’s presentation on writing and publishing at Uralla Library this afternoon. It was such a friendly, engaged and warm audience and a real pleasure to share the conversation with you all.

Many thanks as well to the wonderful Uralla Library team whose incredible support made the event possible, and to Julian who came up from Tamworth on behalf of the Central Northern Regional Library team to record the presentation for sharing across the network so more readers and writers can enjoy it.

A shoutout to locals for Trish Donald's gift making family workshop this Sunday, NERAM-New England Regional Art Museum - wonderful opportunity to have fun and make something personal for Christmas stockings.

🎄🦌Don't forget to book in to our Crafts and Gift Making Family Workshop this Sunday from 11am to 1pm. The workshop coincides with out fabulous Museum Store Sunday event so you can make some festive craft and do some Christmas shopping all on the same day!

In this drop in and drop out workshop, families and individuals can stay the whole time or for just a few minutes and make something personalised for Christmas. Choose from the following workstations and leave with something you can give as a gift or pop on the tree:

Cards
Bookmarks
Christmas Cracker
Christmas decorations
Gift tags
Simple soft toy
Christmas pet and pet home making
If you need help, our trusty Elf will be on hand to help! All materials are provided.

The workshop will be run in Packsaddle and will cost $5. When you are done pop up to the NERAM Museum Store for 20pc off all items, some bubbles for the adults and lots of yummy tastings!
