Today we had a truly beautiful day celebrating Harmony Week through the Living Cultures Celebration of cultural diversity. It was such a joyful event to be part of.
A heartfelt thank you to Dr Laura Brearley for organising this wonderful occasion. We are so grateful to Aunty Melissa McDevitt Weston for her meaningful Welcome to Country, and to Uncle Ron Murray for his powerful didgeridoo greeting.
It was also a privilege to listen to Matua (Uncle) Arnold Tihema share his MÄori greeting. I loved meeting Lisa Kennedy and Aunty Fay Stewart Muir, and it was fantastic to see Mal Webb and Kylie Morrigan, along with the Invy Horn Jam session, bring such vibrant energy to the day.
Most importantly, it was so special to connect with our EAL students. I especially enjoyed watching the Dabke dance from Syria
Today was truly something special.
Thank you to everyone in my choir for being part of thisāIām so proud of you all šŗšŗšŗšŗ
