Such a massive 3 days culminating in the finale last night at Riverfire. I am very grateful to the residents and management of the building I was kindly given rooftop access to and made feel so welcome for the second year running. Hopefully everyone has enjoyed the coverage both leading up to last night and of course the finale. I reckon it’s a safe bet I’ll be back again next year. Well I took a gamble with positioning today and just a minute or so before the F-A18 FSuper Hornet arrived the sun went behind the clouds. Oh well there is always next year 🤦‍♂️

Riverfire 2026 As a videographer I’m a great lawn mower, fabulous conditions in Brisbane city as we speak it is pretty warm so make sure you take all the precautions. Looking forward to bringing you all the colour and excitement from late this afternoon into this evening.

When the locals come out to see what all the fuss is about at the RAAF Base Amberley.There is a colony of roos that hang in the paddock right next to the runway and seem totally unfazed by the jets coming and going.

Big day today starting with the rehearsal at the RAAF Base Amberley with the F18 Hornet putting on a show in preparation for tomorrow’s (Friday) Family Day at the base currently advertised for 11.30 am. NB This is for the base not Riverfire.
After watching the F18 I headed into the city to see the C17 Globemaster run through their rehearsal for Riverfire.
The Riverfire F18 Hornet rehearsal is currently scheduled for 12.30 pm Friday in the city.
Can I suggest that if you want to clarify times it’s best to check the Royal Australian Air Force page for the latest information as there appears to have been some confusion today between the two events and times I posted. The times were correct but I have been advised people were not necessarily aware of the rehearsal at the base. Apologies for any confusion.

Big day ahead today, first stop RAAF Base Amberley for the rescheduled rehearsal for tomorrow at the base then into Brisbane city to check out the C17 Globemaster III rehearsal for Riverfire on Saturday. Back to Brisbane tomorrow for the F18 Hornet rehearsal for Riverfire and finally Riverfire itself on Saturday. Lots of driving but hopefully it’s all worth it.
