Yesterday saw the first of a 3-day series of truth-telling healing circles, in the heart of the nation, with Professor Judy Atkinson, a specialist in intergenerational trauma, as guest speaker.
Today's circle will follow on from yesterday's truth-telling to start to develop strategies in response to the needs of our youth, as their behaviour is telling us that all is not good in their world. Over the next two days the group will start to explore and document possible solutions to the needs of our youth who, through they're behaviour, are showing us they are not happy.
'We know that our youth are feeling pain but they also have solutions, and we as a group, responding and listening, and with an invitation to work together, can build on their expertise within lawful indigenous protocols and practice', said Professor Atkinson.
The circles are taking place at the hall adjacent to the Uniting Church in the Todd Mall for the next two nights, Tuesday and Wednesday 20th + 21st February 4pm - 7pm.
A light supper will be served.
