The brilliant – and frequently hilarious – new film from award-winning Icelandic writer/director Hlynur Pálmason (Godland, A White, White Day).

Over the course of a year, The Love That Remains follows a family of five as parents Anna and Magnus navigate separation while continuing to spend time together for the sake of their three children.

Tender, funny and beautifully observed, the film explores family, love and shared memories against the stunning Icelandic landscape. With playful detours and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, Pálmason delivers a soulful portrait of a family adjusting to change.

And a special mention for Panda, the director’s sheepdog, who joined The Artist’s Uggie and Anatomy of a Fall’s Messi as a winner of the prestigious Palme Dog at Cannes! 🐕🏆

Set against the dusty highways and isolated truck stops of northern Mexico, On the Road is a raw, sensual and suspenseful drama about desire, survival and an unexpected connection.

Veneno, a restless young drifter, makes a living through casual encounters with truck drivers and life on the margins. When he meets Muñeco, a reserved long-haul truck driver, the two form an unlikely arrangement that sees Veneno join him on his freight runs across the vast landscapes of northern Mexico.

What begins as a practical arrangement gradually develops into an unexpected intimacy, as the two men find tenderness and companionship in the isolation of the road. But when Veneno’s troubled past catches up with him, their fragile connection is tested by a dangerous world of drugs, violence and crime.

Directed by David Pablos, On the Road is an intense portrait of desire, masculinity, danger and the fleeting freedom of life on the open road.

After 15 years in prison, Anker (Nikolaj Lie Kaas) is ready to collect the money from the robbery that will fund his dream of a never-ending holiday. There’s just one problem: his brother Manfred (Mads Mikkelsen) buried the money—and has since developed an alter ego as none other than John Lennon. He’s completely forgotten where the money is!

With the help of a psychologist, the brothers set out to unlock Manfred’s memories, find the missing loot and uncover who they really are.

🍷 A little taste of Araluen history!

Look what turned up in the post today, all the way from Roanne, WA!

An old bottle of wine from Chateau Hornsby, a local Alice Springs vineyard that started in the 1970s and closed its doors in the early 2000s.

Even more special, the bottle still bears a sticker commemorating the opening of the Araluen Arts Centre in 1984!

The Araluen Arts Centre was officially opened by Governor-General Sir Ninian Stephen on 19 June 1984, marking the beginning of what would become a much-loved home for art, culture and performance in Central Australia.

More than 40 years later, this little bottle is a fascinating snapshot of Araluen’s early days and a reminder of just how much local history can be found in the most unexpected places. ❤️

Hear from long-term Centralians, as they share their personal stories, memories and experiences.

Hosted by the Friends of Araluen, these regular storytelling sessions at Witchetty’s, Araluen Arts Centre, celebrate the people and stories that make our community unique.

✨ Special Guests

🎓 Mary Blaiklock – Born in Tennant Creek and raised in Alice Springs, Mary spent her career teaching in Adelaide and the Northern Territory before retiring in 2007.

🌳 Stella Hayes – Stella lived at Ilwempe Ilwempe, White Gums, with her partner Keith Castle for 20 years, while working as a psychologist and psychotherapist in Mparntwe.

🎶 The Splinter Sisters – A women’s singing ensemble performing a repertoire of worldly folk songs, rich in harmony and body percussion.

People's Choice Award - 2 years in a row! 👏

Congratulations to Pauline Clack, who has once again won the Yeperenye Shopping Centre People’s Choice Award at the 2026 Advocate Art Award! 🎉

Pauline’s Into the Shadows – Redbank Gorge, acrylic on canvas, captured the hearts of visitors and received the most votes, making this her second consecutive People’s Choice Award win.

What an incredible achievement and a wonderful reflection of the connection Pauline’s work has with our community ❤
