Yesterday I popped in to the Today office in Collingwood and while there I checked out their Stories from Country display of ceramic artworks. Once of the ceramic artworks was one that Today commissioned me to paint back in 2024. I feel special to be amongst some good talented company here!

Yesterday I shared with you a concept sketch of Stevie the Sleepy Lizard, a character that will feature in an upcoming children's book project. Well, now I would like to share with you my concept of the main character named Hannah the Honey Ant.

Over time I'll share and introduce more concepts of characters.

The thought of illustrating characters for an upcoming children's book project has been freaking me out a little. I was recently encouraged to just give it a try and start with a sketch to give me an idea. This is a concept of a charecter I have in mind, introducing you to Stevie the Sleepy Lizard.

I want each character to have their own identity, some will be loosely based on family member's quirky personalities. What do you think Stevie's is?
