Time to meet the ‘crete! It’s December 19th 2025 and the new Mparntwe/Alice Springs skatepark is opening to the public. Community wins every time. Thanks and congratulations to all who showed up during the campaign. Never stop being the squeaky wheel. 🛹🚲🛼💨

Well they’ve done it! Ltyentye Apurte have built the first outdoor concrete skatepark in a remote Indigenous community here in the NT! A monumental achievement deserves a righteous celebration. This Saturday is the opening and the community is extending an open invite to people who’d like to shred the new park or just come and celebrate everyone’s amazing efforts.

Saturday 16th September. 11am-5pm.
Free.
Family event.

Let’s hope this sets a precedent for more youth infrastructure of this quality across the territory and remotely/rurally across the continent.

The Alice Springs Town Council has released concept designs for the Newland Park redevelopment.

The designs include a skatepark, pump track, a half court and fitness area - as well as a play space and dog park.

The future looks bright with the next gen. Nick Shaw hands down shreds BMX harder than anyone in Mparntwe in his age demographic (18-24) right now. He has the moves, style, speed, DIY ethic and humble approach. Attitude is everything.

He’s joining us next week to do some BMX how-to’s, so if you wanna know the secret to blasting one foot tables like this, or you’re keen to see a huge backflip, come have a yarn with this local ledge.
