It's a fast-paced introduction to all the essential moves of bellydance and means you'll get a head start on Term 4, where you can jump into any class with confidence!

Want to learn bellydancing like these lovely ladies? Well in Term 4, you can! We're running TWO Beginners classes on Monday & Wednesday nights. Both classes are identical - just choose the night that works best for you, message us to start your enrolment and let's get those shimmies happening :-)

FOR SALE: Kate has a 3m gazebo in very good condition with some lovely handmade wall hangings for the entire interior made especially for it. Ideal for use at markets or community events (once all the restrictions are over).

THE LAST CANCELLATION

This is the big one friends. Effective immediately, all bellydance classes, events and other activities in Albury/Wodonga and surrounding regions are cancelled for the rest of autumn and winter. Please read this announcement which has been emailed to our dancers and friends.

Also in our announcement are the plans of each of our groups for the next 6 months to help keep our bellydance spirits alive. We've even included a list of events we have planned for spring, which we very much hope will see us all healthy and ready to dance together again.

This NEMEDA page will be taking a break for the next few months as all our committee members concentrate on the many changes they have to face in their normal lives with this rapidly changing situation. We thank you for your understanding and wish you all well as you do the same.

ANOTHER CANCELLATION

Choreo Club won't be at the studio tonight. In almost 20 years they've never had to cancel a session under circumstances like this, that's for sure. They were doing beautifully with their new choreo :-)

NEMEDA's committee will be releasing full details of our response to Covid-19 on Wednesday by email and here on FB. You can bet your bottom dollar that bellydance on the Border is going to look very different over the next 6 months as both states go in to lockdown.

MORE CANCELLATIONS

As we continue to receive advice to do our bit with social distancing, NEMEDA has now decided to cancel our Easter Soiree as well. We know our local bellydancing community will understand Australia has faced a shocking year so far with the bushfires and now Covid-19. We thank everyone for understanding we're making this cancellation with the best intentions.

The Ultimate Women's Weekend Expo, which was scheduled for mid-May, has now been postponed. Bec & Sean and the Ultimate Events team are in the process of rescheduling their numerous events to spring, when we all hope things will be better. NEMEDA will share more details about the Expo as we get them in the coming months.

Please stay tuned, as we will have further information about Tribal in the Alps, short courses and classes soon.

CANCELLATIONS

Unfortunately Keti Sharif & Sam Nascimento have cancelled their Rhythmic Essence tour due to Covid-19 travel advice. This means the workshop for Yackandandah tomorrow night will NOT be going ahead. Bellydance Samantha is also cancelling the rest of her Term 1 classes, but for the very happy reason that she is now on maternity leave until May. Sam & Alex welcomed their daughter, Phoebe Meredith Moore, to the world last Wednesday

The Drum & Dance workshop with Keti Sharif & Sam Nascimento is just two weeks away!

Experience is not essential for this two hour workshop, it's for anyone who would like to learn more about authentic Arabic music.

You can participate as a drummer for just $45, or come as a dancer for $90. Drums and hipscarves are available to borrow on the night.
