While comp season is about to kick off at Discovery Coast Dance Centre, we want to take a moment to celebrate something just as important - our beautiful recreational dancers ๐
At DCDC, fun, friendships, confidence and personal growth matter to us!
Weโre only 6 weeks into term and already weโve seen so many incredible wins in our recreational classes:
โจ ๐ ๐ถ๐ธ๐ฎ๐๐น๐ฎ only started Jazz this year (sheโs usually an Acro girl!) and is already recognising when a step isnโt quite right and correcting it herself. That kind of body awareness so early on is amazing!
โจ ๐ฉ๐ถ๐ฐ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฎ has committed herself to multiple styles this year - including Strength & Flexibility - and the biggest change? Her mindset. Sheโs replaced โI canโtโ with โI can tryโโฆ and within weeks sheโs mastering skills that once felt impossible. That confidence shift is everything.
โจ ๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐ผ๐ธ๐น๐๐ป set herself a big goal - to master her walkover. Not only did she achieve it, she did it before Term 1 even began, earning her place in a higher-level class. Focus + determination = magic.
โจ ๐๐ผ๐ฒ๐ป, fresh out of Preschool, is being brave and keeping up beautifully in our blended Tap class with dancers up to 9 years old - and nailing her claps right on the music!
โจ ๐ ๐๐ฎ is known for her incredible stage presence and acting, and now sheโs pushing herself technically too - working hard on double pirouettes and chasse elevations. Watching her become a well-rounded dancer is so special.
โจ Our Tiny Tots are shining too! ๐๐๐ถ๐ฒ is listening beautifully and building the strength she needs for her bridge. While ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐น, brand new to DCDC, has already mastered her forward roll safely and correctly.
โจ And ๐๐ฟ๐ถ & ๐๐ถ๐น๐ in Primary Acro - well they are giving absolutely everything a go and improving so quickly simply because theyโre willing to try. And they're becoming great friends too!
