What if access wasn’t an add-on, but part of the performance itself?

For Unmothered, we’re experimenting with embedding live audio description and a live sonic soundscape directly into the work.

Rather than separating audio description from the performance, we’re exploring how descriptive language, sound and storytelling can exist together, creating an experience that is accessible while still feeling like theatre.

This process has involved experimenting with how we describe movement, space, objects and moments in real time, and how those descriptions can become part of the sonic world of the piece. This is a little glimpse into that process.

A huge thank you to Melbourne Fringe for letting us be involved in the Radical Access ‘Realising the Potential’ Laboratory and Windmill Production Company for their support in giving us a home for the week.

THE REVIEWS ARE IN!

★★★★★

We’re absolutely buzzing to share these gorgeous words from Theatre Diaries Adelaide about All Grown Up (But Not Really) 🥰

“Billie-Rose oozes the outgoing charisma of a child entertainer and we instantly want to be her friend.”

“There is something so silly and joyful seeing an audience full of adults dance to ‘When I Grow Up’ by the Pussycat Dolls on a random Thursday night.”

“Billie-Rose is a natural in this show… She is organic and smooth in her crowd-work, and also lets her vocals shine as she sings along to 2000s hits.”

“The return of All Grown Up (But Not Really) is another example of how important these opportunities are for local artists to be given the space, resources and opportunity to grow (up) their show.”

Thank you Theatre Diaries for coming along and capturing exactly what this show is all about 🥹💗

We’re over halfway through our Radial Access workshops!!

We’ve been enjoying our time in Melbourne so far and spent our workshop day at Artshouse, where we continued to refine our ideas and continued discussing aesthetic access.

Our time here is almost up and we’re so excited to bring back what we’ve learned! (But also upset for it to all be over soon)💙
