From one exhibition to the next! 🎉

This week my nine heritage watercolour pieces are moving from Goodbank Gallery to the incredible Z Ward where they’ll be on display in a group exhibition all August for SALA! 🏛️

I’ve spent the past few weeks exploring the best ways to showcase all nine works, and I’m so excited for the challenge of displaying them inside a heritage building. A heritage series in a heritage space… perfection 🤍

On the left is the most recent and on the right is one I completed a couple of years ago. Its nice to see some progress over time, how my use of colours has become more harmonised.

After about a month of not painting it was good to get the colours out and put together this piece using a reference photo from the Lavendar Farm in Tasmania.

Inspiration has been a bit scarce since putting together my exhibition so it was good to practice with a mini painting.

🔸Artist Statement:

The Charles Sturt Heritage Watercolour Series (2026) is a group of watercolour paintings depicting various heritage buildings across the Charles Sturt Community. The exhibition is designed to highlight the architectural brilliance within our local community and explores the idea of how this beauty can often be taken for granted in our everyday lives.
As a passionate landscape watercolourist with a personal connection to Charles Sturt, I wanted to capture the ornamental characteristics present in these structures. It is the purpose of this exhibition that viewers may acknowledge these buildings, perhaps reflect and remind them that beauty surrounds us- all we have to do is stop and look for it..
