I dreamt up the Modern Minstrel after my mum died in 2023, reassessing life and how I wanted to spend my time living it....

I dreamt up the Modern Minstrel after my mum died in 2023, reassessing life and how I wanted to spend my time living it. I wanted to live my life full of passion and magic, under the sky and in the moment. I wanted to share to the world, regardless of who was listening, beautiful words about life, death, love and time.

As I move into 2026 the Modern Minstrel moves into Phase 2 of her existence with an updated costume, show and locations. Bigger, better and more magical!

I have many ambitious plans that I'm excited to see unfold but staying patient can be difficult. Corset making, learning the tin whistle and hand painting signs can feel like an eternity! But the time taken and fear before each performance is all worth it to see a passerby smile, sit down to listen for a bit, or chat and share their love for poetry and theatre.

In a time where money is tight, theatre is expensive and entertainment is on our screens, fast and fleeting, I hope in 2026 to bring more free live entertainment to enchant everyday people and inspire them to feel more alive and grateful for the moment.
